Boxall Taxis has a long and successful history; established over a 120 years ago. Boxall Taxis is the longest running taxi company in Hitchin started by Edward Boxall when took over the Red lion pub in Bucklesbury in 1902.

Edward Boxall was a successful Coachman when he decided to start his own business hiring out carriages from the stabling behind the pub. After 28 years of business rapidly growing and flourishing Edward passed away in 1930 and was succeeded by his three sons, Arthur, Charlie and Bill.
